Hub is Cog

Hello and welcome to a super short intro and history lesson on Cog, the artists formerly known as Hub. We’re based in Dolgarrog, which is quite a large but very lovely village in the Conwy Valley, and we originally opened in 2020 . Back then we were called Hub Dolgarrog, aka The Hub, and we were a collection of around 30 makers and creators selling our wares from the big shop opposite Surf Snowdonia (aka Adventure Parc Snowdonia). It’s a simple setup in that the people who make the goods that are on sale also work in the shop. So, whilst we are going to start a series of ‘meet the makers’ blogs on here, you can actually just call down to Cog and meet the makers in the real world. And for four years, we trundled on, wishing we’d done things slightly differently and always wanting a slightly different space to do a little bit more. So in January this year we closed down for a month, moved everything around, painted everything that didn’t move, created a new gallery and workshop space at the back and opened up again in February. Only we’re now called Cog and Adventure Parc Snowdonia, our friends across the road, are now called Zip World Conwy. Hope to see you all soon x
